MONDRIAN RECREATION
In the courtyard of the shopping center NA ZAMKAVAJ, in contrast to the style of the old city, there is a fragment of modernism. Inspired by Piet Modrian’s Composition with Colored Planes and Gray Lines, 1918 and Tableau I, 1921.
Two compositional axes formed a Greek cross inside this block, highlighting the two lower parts for landscaping. The idea of the form of a recreational zone involves the fragmentation of the form itself into three main sectors, combining more private and semi-public spaces. This is a fractal structure. The division is nuanced, the spaces flow into each other. The form interacts with the recreation area and terraces of the courtyard part of the building, complementing and contrasting.
Volumes are played out on the relief, emphasizing its character and expressing its features. The form includes park lighting. So the lighting scheme became part of the architectonics of this project.
In the future of the development of the historical center of the city, it becomes a necessary point of attraction for this place, as a small square with an art object inside. By creating social activity, communication and interaction between people.
